All You Need is love
St Peter and St Paul Church, Knapton
Sunday 16th February 2025
a Service celebrating Gods love, held in St Peter and St Paul Church, Knapton on Sunday 16th February 2025.
With Sunday 16th being so close to Valentines Day it felt apt to have a service about “Love”.
We heard moving stories from 2 members of our community about the love they have experienced in their lives, with readings from 1 Corinthians 13 and John 15:9-17

Loving someone who is trans in today’s world can be a challenging journey.
But, it’s also a journey filled with immense love, learning, and growth. It brings something into your life, that once there you would never want to live without.
It shapes us into greater understanding, it teaches us compassion and enables us to learn the true meaning of unconditional love.
When a flower does not bloom, we do not seek to change that flower but to change the environment around it – to love and nurture it and to give it what it needs to grow – to create a environment where that flower can thrive.
And that environment is love.
Loving someone who is trans may not always be easy but it is not complicated either. If we only strive to see them for who they truly are and who they know themselves to be.
In the safety of love and acceptance anything is possible, for love can fight the darkest storms and heal the deepest wounds.
We are created in the image of one who taught us to love one another, not in certain way but without judgement, in a way that recognises and celebrates each and every one and embraces diversity and difference.
So, if you love someone who is trans – love them not for who the world tells them they should be but for who you know they are – a bright, colourful, unique, courageous and beautiful light in the world!
